Loveland store closed

Well, technically it is a Johnstown restaurant that closed.  We are taking the Spicy Pickle located at Hiway 34 and I-25 by Bonefish, etc.  One of my “beeps” told me today that the local sandwich shop has closed.
Funny, because I parked right next door to it yesterday at the Verizon store to carpool to UNC in Greeley to go to the E-Challenge event. I did not notice that the place had shut down.

I do remember reading that the Spicy Pickle was closing many of its locations, but did not see that the NoCo sandwich shop was among them.

ANYTHING ELSE CLOSE THAT I MISSED?

Loveland business closing

This is old Loveland business news.  I have been away for a while, but I am back now.  It was pointed out to me by Brad Shannon that the Mail-N-Copy on West Eisenhower has closed.   According to Brad, and Ann Bradbury, the business has been closed for more than a month.   I guess I haven’t been walking that way as much as I should.

It appears there is a Mail N Copy on West Eisenhower, but those of us that live in northwest Loveland have a bit of a travel to get there or to Kinko’s.

Anyone know what happened?

Loveland coffee shop on ice (cream)

Loveland will be  losing a coffee shop/ice cream store on November 27th.  This one hits close to home for me.  I have gone there for coffee (maybe a doughnut or two) and to use their free wi-fi.  Also, I quoted the owner in my recent article in the Northern Colorado Business Report (NCBR) on all the new yogurt shops coming to northern Colorado.

The restaurant I am talking about is Penguin’s Ice Cream and Coffee. It’s located at teh shopping center on the northeast corner of Eisenhower and Madison in Loveland.

Here is a copy of what is posted on their website.  Not that they will still be selling their ice cream in Loveland, and will be opening an new coffee venue soon

From www.penguinsicecream.com

On November 27th, the last ice cream will be scooped at Penguins Ice Cream, and we will close up shop. Be sure to redeem your gift certificates before we close!

We will try to continue selling our ice cream wholesale to local restaurants. It can currently be found at Fatso’s Diner on the west end of Loveland.

We also plan to open a new coffee venue next to the Conoco gas station west of the intersection of Hwy 34/I-25. Pre-packed pints and quarts of our most popular ice cream may also continue to be available there unless we cease production entirely.

Please follow the latest developments by visiting the store to sign up for e-mail updates.

Thank you, patrons and friends, for all of your support over the years. We hope Penguins has been as fun for you as it has been for us.  We will never forget the way children’s faces lit up as they watched our train start to move on its track around the
store. . .the sticky summer evenings full of Blue Moon ice cream. . .the way the store filled up with coffee and conversations on snowy afternoons. The memories made will last a lifetime.

It has truly been a privilege to serve coffee and homemade ice cream to Northern Colorado over the past few years.

It is with great sadness that we close Penguins Ice Cream, but we are looking forward to these newest projects and hope that you are, too!

THANKS TO MARISSA FOR POINTING THIS OUT TO ME.

Loveland Cherry Blossom — more

Loveland Cherry Blossom Banquet and Events Center is no more!  Toby from the International Order of Odd Fellows No. 36 says they are gone.

A sign on the door from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has a Writ of Restitution and an order for the renters to vacate the premises on 6/10.

Another signs says:
“ATTENTION:

Anyone having business with Cherry Blossom Events Center, they are no longer at this location.  We do not have a forwarding address, so please contact their attorney for information.  Attorney Mathew Gould 970-493-8999″

A member of the Odd Fellows was cleaning up in the building when I stopped by. He says the site is for rent, and he has had five inquiry calls today.

He said one was from someone wanting to put a coffee shop in the space.  Do we REALLY need another coffee shop there?

Is there a greeting card for that?

Loveland losing another business:  My wife was shopping at the Thompson Valley Towne Center in south Loveland today.

She said Rosemary’s Hallmark is having a sale. A  close-out sale since they are going out of business.

Update:  One of my most faithful “beeps”, Brad Shannon, gave an update on the greeting card shop closure.  He says the liquor store next door to the shop will be expanding into their space.
