Dr. Ron Cabrera is out at the superintendent of the Thompson R2-J School District. I am n0t going to give my opinion on this yet. (I covered the school board meetings for about three years for the Surveyor newspaper.
Cabrera’s last day is the end of the month. It looks like he will get $200,000 and change as a parting gift.
A week or two ago, I saw that one of the two deputy superintendents, Dr. Judy Skupa, is being considered for the Poudre School District interim superintendent.
Two directors for the Thompson School District voted against cutting Cabrera loose–that being Lola Johnson and Len Sherman. Johnson resigned her post with the Loveland-Berthoud area School Board as the result of the ousting of Dr. Cabrera.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Why is he gone?
Did the board make the right decision?
Who should replace Cabrera?
Were proper procedures followed?
