Loveland to be mobbed today

Loveland has a mob?  Apparently, there is a start of something called a cash mob.  This is a good thing as it supports local businesses.  (No riots or violence involved with this mob.)

Vicky Conley, one of my faithful “beeps”, told me about this yesterday.  For full details go to Facebook and find search on Loveland Cash Mob.

This group was started in January, 2012 by Loveland resident and local shopping fanatic Renee Blanchard.   The whole idea is to form a group of Lovelanders who attend a monthly “mob event.”  At these gatherings, everyone is  encouraged to spend $20 (or more if you choose) to show support to a locally owned and operated business!

At the beginning of each month there will be a poll where you can nominate and/or vote on a business to ”’mob.” After the polling is completed, the business will be selected and notified. The date, time and location will be announced on Facebook and Twitter one week prior to the event.

This month the Loveland Cash Mob will be at Anthology Books on Fourth Street at 3 p.m.

This sure sounds like a great way to “buy local.”

    Thanks for posting this Bob, I was at the event and it was so awesome! It inspired me to start one in Windsor. This Saturday we will have a Cash Mob on Main Street in the downtown area of Windsor at 3:30 pm on 2/25. I’ve linked our facebook group website to this post.     Hi Bob – somehow I missed this article. Thank you for promoting the Loveland (and other local) Cash Mob! Our next event will coincide with National Cash Mob Day on Saturday March 24th so be sure to stay tuned for more details and information about where we will be that day.

    Bob – watch for the announcement/event for Loveland’s March Cash Mob Event. It will be held on March 24th which is National Cash Mob Day! We are hoping for a great turnout…stay tuned for more info. I’ll post more about it on our FB page on this Saturday the 17th.
