Loveland says hi to Lil Mike
Pizza and deli combo store is coming to downtown Loveland. I just got back from my healthy heart walk (40 minutes) before it hits 95 degrees today.
While cruising the downtown area of Loveland (I call it LoDo for Loveland downtown-sorry Denver), I saw a sign that caught my attention.
The former location of Heidi’s Deli and Sisters Pizza is coming back to life. As you may remember, Heidi’s, et all, was only there for a heartbeat. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).
I chatted with a guy named Mike (what are the odds?) who is going to open Lil Mike’s Deli and Pizza. The location is in the Lincoln Place complex, if you didn’t know where Heidi’s was.
Mike, who appears to be fairly normal size, says he has a background in restaurants and food service. He will make one side of the space a deli with make to order sandwiches where he slices the pastrami and corned beef for your sandwich. The pizza shop will feature NY-style pizza.
Sound like great place for Lodoer’s to have a weekday lunch or for a stop when walking, shopping or going to the museum or the Rialto.
I hope he makes it.

Cool blog, I just came across it today. I’m going to bookmark it.
I’m excited to try Lil Mikes now, I was a fan of Heidi’s and Sisters except for their hours.
Also, there’s another new pizza place over by Wendy’s on 34, Varsity Pizza. We tried it last weekend and it’s pretty good.
Thanks Robert
I wrote about Varsity Pizza a few posts ago. My wife and I had lunch there and later went back on a weekend for a take-out pizza. I like it.
Lil Mike’s Deli is outstanding. The sandwiches are the best I have ever had, especially the Rueben. My wife and I just tried the pasta from what Mike refers to as “The dark side” which is the other side of the restaraunt which is ran by his son Keagan and let me tell you the pasta dishs were amazing.
If you live in Loveland and have not been to Lil Mike’s yet, drop what you are doing right now and go down there now. You will not be sorry.
