Lightning strikes on Cleveland Ave.

Earlier this week, I was in LoDo  (Loveland Downtown), and noticed construction on Cleveland Ave.

The entire front of the building just to the north of the Loveland Veteran’s Club was destroyed.   The interior looked gutted.

The construction is being done for Lightning Hybrids, who are located directly to the west now.  The building used to be the Quick Print shop, and I think Blue Sky Church had it for a while.

Lightning Hybrids started out by trying to produce a cool looking car that would get in the neighborhood of 100 miles per gallon.   Seems they have switched focus to retrofitting vehicles for fuel efficiency.

I found out this information, thanks to Bonnie Trowbridge–VP of Marketing and Business Development at Lightning Hybrids.

The buidling on Cleveland is called Mercury Plaza and is owned by one of our founders, Dan Johnson.  Dan is in the process of renovating it.  Lightning Hybrids is slated to be his tenant when phase one  (refinish of the lower level) is completed later this summer or early fall.   We will move our offices and engineering team there  from our leased Railroad Avenue space at that time.

The finished building (see photo on the left above) looks like a good addition to downtown Loveland.
